Yes, I am afraid i won't give myself enough space to create this photo.
2. Where do you think would be a great place to take this type of picture here on the Bowie campus?
Somewhere with a lot of space and a background that won't distract viewers from the main point of the photo.

 in every photo.

Opinion Writing

Have you ever wanted to rewatch one of your favorite movies but can’t find it in stores? Go to Netflix! Netflix is by far the best place to watch your favorite movies and TV shows. It first came out as a way to rent movies and have them shipped to your house. It later offered the option to stream movies from your own home. Netflix has grown more and more popular, now being known as the go-to place to stream your favorite movies and TV shows.

It began as a place to stream movies that aren’t in the theatre anymore. It has evolved and became the most popular place to watch shows for a good price. Recently, Netflix has been releasing original movies and shows. Some of their originals are starting to become better than the other stuff they provide. A lot of them are directed towards teens. Teens take up the majority of the viewers on Netflix, making their originals very popular.

One of their most popular films at the moment is a show called “On My Block” This show gives people a view of some of the things that happen in the hood. It shows how teens live and some of the things they have to go through in their own neighborhood. This show is very popular to teens. It is a really great show. Teens have been going crazy about this show, the season finally in particular. The ending had everybody “shook” They have been posting all over social media asking Netflix when they will release the next season.

Netflix now has people hooked on their website not just for the older movies they post, but also for their ground shaking originals. The originals are probably the most popular thing on their website.

There are other websites that are beginning to compete with Netflix. Websites such as Hulu and YouTube Red are starting to post original movies as well, but none of them have been able to top Netflix. Not only does Netflix have a better selection for regular movies and TV shows, but they also have the best originals out there.

In conclusion, Netflix is the best place to watch your favorite movies and shows and is definitely worth the money. Everybody should have a Netflix account because they will get a lot of use out of it. I guarantee they will fall in love with it just like everyone else did.

Earthquake story

An earthquake hit the San Francisco Bay area Monday morning. The quake hit at 8:12 a.m. PDT.

A building housing McHenry’s Auto Supply partially collapsed, killing two people and injuring six others, according to  Jennifer Vu, a public information officer from the Hayward Fire Department. "Names of the dead are being withheld pending notifications of families," Vu said.

Hayward resident Mike Beamer, whose apartment is across the street from McHenry’s, said he felt a rolling motion that lasted for around 30 seconds, with a big jolt in the middle of it.

“I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling. I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming started across the street," Beamer said.

Hayward firefighters used ropes to stabilize the auto supply shop, organizing a search of the building and capped a gas line after detecting a gas leak at the site.

The focal point of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale, was under the Hayward Hills, according to Penny Gertz, a scientist from the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park. Gertz called the quake a “strong one” and said it occurred on the Hayward Fault, which happens to run under the hills.

"Twenty-one fire personnel, twelve police and five American Red Cross workers responded to the building collapse, with some arriving within four minutes of the quake," Vu said.

Three out of the six people injured were hurt seriously enough to require hospitalization and were transported to Hayward General Hospital, according to Vu. She also said that no other serious injuries have been reported in Hayward.

"People as far south as Los Angeles and as far north as Redding felt the quake," Gertz said.

Huntington Story

Janice Jones is 53 years old and lives in Barstow, California, according to California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye.

Rye said Jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home, when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat. The weapon discharged when it hit the floor, and the bullet passed through Jones' leg and through the side of the vehicle, according to Rye. “It could have been worse,” Rye said. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.”

Jones’ dog was placed in the care of the Huntington Beach Animal Control officers.

"Jones was transported to Huntington Beach Hospital via ambulance and later was transported to Irvine Medical Center," Rye said.

Jim Washington, a spokesperson for Huntington Beach Hospital, established Jones was treated at the hospital but gave no additional information.

"Jones was shot in the right leg around 10 p.m. Wednesday," Rye said.

The dog seemed to be underfed, according to Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officers, and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead.

“It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo said.

Ngo indicated that her office would try to file animal abuse charges against Jones.

"Jones doesn’t have a permit for the gun," Rye said.

Rye said officers cited Jones for expired plates and the county’s district attorney’s office was considering whether to charge her for the gun accident.

How- Hard work and dedication :)

Bowie High School student, Claudio, was this month's winner of the Student of the Month Award, he is a sophomore who believes he won due to his hard work and dedication.

On February 3rd, 2018, Claudio was given the student of the month award. He was given this award because he gets very good grades and he is an overall respectful, good student. Claudio is in all Pre Ap classes and works very hard to keep all A's. Seeking more information about his journey to winning this award, we turned to him and his community for help.

Claudio says winning this award wasn't easy. "I worked day and night, no sleep, always on the grind," Claudio said. He says his goal wasn't to win, but to improve as a student.

He claims it wasn't too hard to keep up with the work. "No, I focussed a lot in class which made the work pretty simple," Claudio is naturally a very hard working student, he believes learning is fun.

Turner says he does very well in math class. "Claudio is a very dedicated student, he is always taking notes and always studying. He does phenomenal on most of the tests in this class," Mr. Turner says.

After he won, Claudio noticed people started to ask for help and copy his work more often. "Yes, people ask me about all the work now and I just tell them to ask the teacher. I believe its okay to ask questions, but people seemed to just want the answers and not to learn."

The next student of the month will be announced in March.
