1. Camera obscure effect is when a tiny hole is created in a dark room allowing light to come into the room, projecting the scene outside on the opposite wall (upside down).

5. Digital cameras use an electronic sensor called CCD.

                                                                       Camera Modes

6. In auto mode the camera controls the flash and exposure, in program mode you can control the flash and other camera settings.

7. Portrait mode is used to blur out the background, it does so by using the fastest available lens setting.

8. Sports mode is used to freeze motion in a picture, it does so by using the highest shutter speed possible.

9. In manual mode the photographer must set the shutter and aperture mode.

                                                                           Half-Press
10. You should do a half press on the trigger button because it will make sure your camera is ready and it will lock focus. It will also respond faster to the full press to take your picture.

                                                                       Controlling Flash
11. This symbol means the flash is disabled. You would use this when the natural light matches the mood of your photo.

12. This symbol means auto-flash. You would use this to make the flash go off automatically depending on how much light is in your picture.

                                                               Introduction to Exposure
13. If there is too much light the picture will be washed out.

14. If there isn't enough light the picture will be too dark.

                                                                    The Universal Stop
15. A "stop" is a relative change in the brightness of light.

                                                                   Shutters and Aperture 
18. A longer shutter speed creates more light.

19. A shorter shutter speed creates less light.

20. The aperture controls light.

21. You can increase the amount of light by opening the aperture more.
