Fashion

1. They made the model's back longer, her eyes bigger, her shoulders smaller, and her face thinner.

2. They made her legs longer, her skin tanner, her butt smaller, and her stomach thinner.

3. They turned the model into a piece of pizza using just photoshop.

4. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like these in a photo? Why or why not?

No it is not acceptable because that makes people think that models are perfect and it is deceiving people, they are lying to their fans/viewers.

5. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?

Yes.

6. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?

Small changes like making skin appear smother or covering pimples or cropping the image is okay. Making the model's body/face look slimmer or different is not okay.

7. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.

Fashion photography focuses on the way people look and revolves around their clothes, makeup, and hair. Photojournalism has a wider range of things you an do/ take pictures of.
8. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each?

You can change everything about a person using only photoshop. It gives people a false idea of what the average woman/man should look like.

9. Why do you think I am showing you these three videos?

you are showing us how some people use photography and opening our eyes to how fake a lot of the people we see on magazines and billboards are.

10. Why are none of these videos about guys???

Because this issue is more relevant for women then men.
