a.     What did you see on the website, describe it in 2-3 sentences?
I saw a bunch of photo tricks to make your photos look really cool. It tells you ways you can achieve different techniques when taking pictures.

I learned how to make a forced perspective photo, a long exposure landscape photo, and how to make a double exposure portrait photo.

c.     How did the site relate to photography?
This site relates to photography because it is telling you ways to make your photography look more interesting.


2.    7 Tips to Shooting Great Portrait Photographs

a.     What did you see on the website, describe it in 2-3 sentences?
I saw a lot of creative portrait ideas and tips to make your pictures look cool. There was a lot of different styles of portraits.

b.     What did you learn?
I learned some tips on how to take creative pictures. I learned how to properly use negative space and brake the rules of photography.

c.     How did the site relate to photography?
This related to photography by telling how to take great portraits.

I picked this photo because it was my favorite of all of the photos on the website. I like how the color of the railing stands out and ads a pop of color to the image.

I see leading lines, and viewpoint (POV).

I picked this photo because I think it was the most interesting picture on the website. I think this is a really beautiful place and I want to go see it in real life one day.

Fashion

1. They made the model's back longer, her eyes bigger, her shoulders smaller, and her face thinner.

2. They made her legs longer, her skin tanner, her butt smaller, and her stomach thinner.

3. They turned the model into a piece of pizza using just photoshop.

4. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like these in a photo? Why or why not? 

No it is not acceptable because that makes people think that models are perfect and it is deceiving people, they are lying to their fans/viewers. 

5. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?

Yes.

6. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?

Small changes like making skin appear smother or covering pimples or cropping the image is okay. Making the model's body/face look slimmer or different is not okay.

7. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.

Fashion photography focuses on the way people look and revolves around their clothes, makeup, and hair. Photojournalism has a wider range of things you an do/ take pictures of.
8. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each?


You can change everything about a person using only photoshop. It gives people a false idea of what the average woman/man should look like.

9. Why do you think I am showing you these three videos?


you are showing us how some people use photography and opening our eyes to how fake a lot of the people we see on magazines and billboards are.

10. Why are none of these videos about guys???


Because this issue is more relevant for women then men.

What caught your eye? The girls emotion caught my eye, i could see her heart breaking.

At Kent State University in Ohio, there was a shooting. 4 students died, and 9 were wounded.

I learned that this photo won the Pulitzer Prize. Also, Neil Young wrote a song called "Ohio" about this incident.

1. Why did you pick this image? I picked this image because the way the milk looks is very interesting and i wanted to know more

What caught your eye? The way the white and bright red contrasts.

2. Summarize what you read. How about 2-3 sentences explaining the photo. A man named Harold Egerton spent years trying to take these milk drop photos. In the time period this photo was taken, it was nearly impossible to take a stop motion picture in the dark.

What caught your eye? The fact that the Earth was rising like the sun in this photo.

This photo was the first full colored picture of earth. It started the environmental movement. They almost missed the picture while scrambling t find a color canister for the camera.

 The photo was very complicated to take. People had to throw things into the frame.

 Philippe Halsman took this photo by using thin wires to keep the furniture "floating". He had his wife and daughter throw water and cats into the frame at the same time as he had his subject jump, attempting to catch a photo at the perfect tim. It took 26 tries.
